FX Elements is a provider of premium stock footage and overlays for VFX artists, game developers, filmmakers, and television producers. With a vast library of meticulously crafted visual elements, it empowers creators to bring their visions to life with unprecedented realism and efficiency.
The spark that would ignite FX Elements happened in a parking lot in Los Angeles in 2010. At OddBall Digital, we needed custom dirt elements to complete a project we were working on at the time, so we built a rig, set up a RED ONE cinema camera, and started rolling. Little did we know at the time that some of those elements would go on to become some of our first products uploaded to the site.
Encouraged by the success of our newly minted footage, we filmed more and more elements over the following months. Quickly we had accumulated a useful library of footage, and our thoughts turned to sharing this footage with the world.
FX Elements is a small business that was truly born in the garage. Initially, FX Elements was a side project, something we did in our spare time between projects. Slowly, over time the popularity of the site meant we could move away from our daily VFX work and focus all of our time and attention on growing FX Elements in support of the VFX community as a whole.
We’ve spent a tremendous amount of time and effort growing this company from the ground up. We don’t have outside investors or rely on crowdfunding for revenue, and everything from the code that runs this website to the products we sell is carefully crafted by the Hawkins family.
FX Elements aims to improve the visual effects industry by democratizing access to high-quality stock footage and overlays.
